HowCurt's Autumn Jubilee, DOM
(Ch. Berena's Gemini Splashdown, SOM,LOM x Telstar's Spellbound)

July 1989 - July 2002

It is with great sorrow and extremely heavy heart that I found my Holly had died last night after a short battle with a severe kidney infection. She was the daughter of Splash and a Telstar bitch. She became a Dam Of Merit in 2 litters. The first litter bred to Biff produced 3 flashy pups all finished, one of them being Biff's first champion as well. The 2nd litter she was bred to Ch Sig's Tator Tot and had 1 flashy bitch and 2 plain boys. The bitch in that litter finished in a whirlwind of 3 majors in 3 weekends. Holly was my first boxer and first show dog and taught me a lot about showing and breeding dogs and what a boxer could and should be. She was an amazing mom and was my puppy raiser teaching the pups manners gently, though in the last couple years the boxer pups were too much for her. The frenchie pups were very much her speed at that point.

Holly was the one constant thing in my life. She was with me through my later teen years, boyfriends, marriage, and kids. She was great at checking out my boyfriends and letting me know which ones passed her judgment. When I ignored her opinion, in the end she was always right. She was a fierce protector of our home, even in the last month. Her eye sight and hearing going, arthritis in her bones and joints, when it came to protecting her place and her people she could still get up on those toes and woof and intimidate people and dogs that came by. She would welcome anyone in the house though, once we deemed it ok. Of course they would still get the once over from her.
She was my old girl and the momma around here. We all miss her terribly. No one here has yet filled her shoes, not sure anyone can. Rest in peace my Holly Wally girl. See you at the bridge.

Holly was born July 19, 1989. When I saw her it was love at first sight. There was nothing intellectual about buying her. Holly simply sat in my lap, gave me a big kiss on the face and that was it! Thankfully she was a nice girl conformation-wise, although
I had no idea what I was looking at  the time. Holly was supposed to be shown. I had been riding and showing horses since I was 7 so I thought "How much different could dog showing be from horses?" It is very different, but I got bit by the show bug and hasn't stopped since. Due to not being raised properly for the show ring before coming here and not knowing how to raise a show dog she never had the personality for showing. She preferred to be a home body and protector of our home.

She was bred to Ch Hi-Tech's Arbitrage, SOM LOM and had 3 flashy fawns from the litter, Ch StephLyn's Strictly Business, "Ozzie"; Ch StephLyn's Winter Folly, "Megan"; and Ch How-Curt's Joyous Venture, "Joy".
Holly was then bred to Ch Sig's Tater Tot and produced Ch. StephLyn's Red Hot Chili Pepper, "Chili". This made her a Dam of Merit in 2 litters! She tied for dam producing the most champions in 1994 . She also made her sire, Ch Berena's Gemini Splashdown a Legion Of Merit.
