Best of Breed winning

December 3, 1997 -  March 14, 2008

Our beautiful girl at 10 years of age

Jiggy went to the national to compete in Veterans for the first time in many years. Check out the What's New page for details!

In 1997 I decided to get a smaller breed of dog that I could finish without a handler doing the showing. I looked into many breeds and after much research and meeting a few in person, I decided on the french bulldog. Then I set about our quest to FIND a cream puppy show quality bitch. That was one of the hardest things. I limited myself  tremendously with color and sex. I held out and luckily found a gorgeous bitch, Ch Shadetree StephLyn Getn Jiggy W/It. Jiggy is my foundation bitch in French Bulldogs. I bought her back in 1998 when she was 9 weeks old. We fell in love with her at first sight.

I showed her in her first show at 7 months. It was 3 days of shows and on the 3rd day she won winners bitch/best of winners for a 4 point major! I was so surprised because she was very immature but the judge just loved her. How could she not?

After that I didn't show her for another couple months. Jiggy wasn't shown a lot but the shows I kept hitting were only 1 point shows. So I kept hunting around for the 2nd major. Along the way she won best of breed from the 9-12 class over a special. That was thrilling!!

Jiggy was rarely out of the points, most weekends she would win winners bitch both days and go best of opposite over specials very frequently. Finally after going up to Boston for the winter shows we got another 4 point major. We only needed 1 more point to finish. A couple weeks later was our last show of the year and it was another 4 point major. Well, she took it. So she finished with 3 four-point majors. Not too bad for my first try with the frenchies.
